Yes, we offer free hair consultations to help you find the perfect haircut, style or colour for you. During a detailed hair consultation we will analyse your hair, discuss your daily hair routines and come up with some ideas of hairstyles and colours that will suit you. If you are new to Hair Ministry or an existing client that is thinking about having a big colour change i.e light to dark or dark to light, we will need to carry out a full consultation.

It is salon policy for clients to have a patch test at least 48 hours prior to the following treatments:

  • Hair colour
  • HD Brows
  • Brow/lash tinting
  • Yumi lash lift
  • Novalash eyelash extensions
  • Microblading
  • Brow lamination

Any new or existing client that has not had a patch test with Hair Ministry in the last 6 months must have a patch test. It is manufacturers guidelines to re-patch test clients who are:

  • Pregnant
  • Breastfeeding
  • Had medical/prescription changes since last treatment

If you have been very ill with covid or had an adverse reaction to the covid vaccine we will need to carry out a patch test before we can colour you hair again.

Please be aware the following treatments require a NEW PATCH TEST following a positive test for COVID and following EACH COVID vaccination:

  • HD Brows**
  • Brow Lamination**
  • Microblading
  • YUMI Lash Lift**

*New manufacturers guidelines for YUMI LASH LIFT and HD BROWS means we can no longer carry out a patch test or these particular services on anybody who is currently pregnant or breastfeeding. We are sorry for any inconvenience. 

We always carry out a patch test on new clients and anybody who hasn't had their hair coloured in the past 6 mont, no matter what else has been used in between time. We also advise calling ahead of your appointment if you are considering having a big colour change as we will need to re-patch test you and possibly take a strand test of your hair.

If you notice any irritation, redness, swelling or itching around the site of the patch test please wash it immediately and let us know, seek medical help if needed. We will advise you the next step from there.

You will need to book in for a consultation in the week running up to your colour/beauty appointment, but no later then 48 hours prior to the treatment booking. We test on the inside crease of your arm as this provides better visibility to any possible reaction. We use a small amount of colour from our semi permanent range on one arm and permanent range on the other. For beauty treatments we use a small amount of the product that will be used for your particular treatment on the inside crease of your arm. It is important to then wait 48 hours for any type of reaction to occur before the colour/beauty service.

We are a unisex salon offering haircutting and styling for men and women.

All of our stylists have been through a training programme to ensure they meet the Hair Ministry standard. Each salon has a team of highly skilled stylists but some have more experience then others which is reflected in their job title and our pricing structure. For more creative cuts and colour, such as balayage and colour correction, short hair styling and under cutting, we recommend you book in with one of our more experienced stylists - senior stylist/director. If you need some advise please call your chosen salon and we will be happy to help.

We have a team of highly skilled stylists, we still provide regular training and education no matter how experienced the stylist is. This keeps us up to date on all the latest trends and techniques. Our clients are always asked to review their experience with us and we now have a 5* rating on google reviews. No - we offer gel manicures and pedicures, currently using a range of OPI or The Gel Bottle colours. We also now offer The Gel Bottle - Builder In A Bottle system (BIAB), which is a file off builder gel, designed to strengthen your nails with great lasting power. No - we only infill our own work. We would need you to have those lashes removed where you originally had them done and we would then start fresh with a full set of new ones.

We use a range of Dermalogica or our newest skincare collection Natural Spa. As part of our facial treatments we carry out a full skin analysis so we can use the correct products for your skin type. We have recently introduced some new facial treatments using the luxurious Natural Spa range which you can find more information on here.

A small deposit is taken to secure an online booking and will be taken off your final bill. You will lose this deposit if an appointment is missed or cancelled by you online. If an appointment is cancelled by a member of the team successfully you will be refunded.

PLEASE READ OUR UPDATED PATCH TESTING POLICY HERE. Be aware if you are to book a colour service, this needs to be BEFORE any cutting or blow drying service.

You may find limited or no availability for some days. In this case please call your chosen branch as we can add you to the waiting list. You may be contacted by a member of staff to alter timings and discuss your colouring requirements.

It is salon policy for all clients having ANY of the treatments listed below to have a patch test at least 48hrs prior to the treatment. We kindly ask the patch test be booked as close to the appointment as possible.

You require a patch test for the treatments listed above if;

- you are a new client to the treatment at Hair Ministry
- you are an existing client that has not had a patch test within 6 months
- if it is your first treatment returning from lockdown (as COVID can be asymptomatic and with the roll out of the vaccination program we must patch test ALL clients before their first hair colour/beauty treatment from lockdown)

It is manufactures guidelines to patch test again if;

- you are pregnant*
- you are breast-feeding*
- you have had medical/prescription changes since your last treatment
- you have experienced an adverse reaction to COVID or the COVID vaccination

Please be aware the following treatments require a NEW PATCH TEST following a positive test for COVID and following EACH COVID vaccination:

If you have had a vaccination, we will wait at least TWO WEEKS after, before we perform a patch test just in case a reaction presents itself and the cause can be determined. If it is found we do NOT have an up to date patch test on record, then the treatment may have to be adjusted accordingly or we reserve the right to rearrange the appointment for a later date.

Patch Test

If any reaction occurs during the processing time or during the following 48 hours, rinse immediately and a colouration will not be performed. This test represents an important precaution. However, be aware that even if a test has been carried out you may still experience an allergic reaction when colouring the hair. The patch test is not a guarantee of avoiding future allergic reactions. Please consult a doctor if there are any doubts.

**New manufacturers guidelines for YUMI LASH LIFT, LASH BOMB LASH LIFT and HD BROWS & BROW LAMINATION means we can no longer carry out a patch test or these particular services on anybody who is currently pregnant or breastfeeding. We are sorry for any inconvenience.

No Show/Cancellation Policy

We understand that sometimes you may have to cancel an appointment. We kindly request you provide at least 24 hours’ notice. (Hair Extension bookings require 48 hours’ notice of cancellation)

Appointments can be cancelled online with more than 24 hours’ notice.

Anyone who fails to attend an appointment that was secured online without giving notice, and we are unable to contact you to reschedule, will be charged the full appointment amount.

You will be asked to make full payment for any future bookings if you have not attended or failed to give us sufficient notice on more than 2 occasions.

DEPOSITS

Hair Colour Services
Clients will be kindly asked to pay the cost of the colour application time at the consultation appointment.

Beauty Services
Clients will be kindly asked to pay 50% deposit on their first beauty treatment.

Hair Extensions
Clients will be kindly asked to pay the cost of the application time to secure a Hair Extensions
appointment. Please provide at least 48 hours cancellation notice.

Deposits are non-refundable if:

  • Less than 24 hours’ notice is given
  • You fail to attend an appointment without giving notice

Deposits are refundable if:

  • You cancel with more than 24 hours’ notice. (Hair extensions require 48hrs notice of cancellation)

DEPOSITS - ONLINE BOOKINGS

ALL hair colour services, and ALL beauty treatments will require a 50% deposit to secure an online booking.

If you are a NEW client making an online booking for ANY service, you will be required to pay a 50% deposit for your first 2 visits.

Deposits are non-refundable if:

  • Less than 24 hours’ notice is given
  • You fail to attend an appointment without giving notice

Deposits are refundable if:

  • You cancel with more than 24 hours’ notice. (Hair extensions require 48hrs notice of cancellation)
  • If a service or treatment is unsuitable for you or cannot be provided by us for any reason.

Please be advised our prices are based on standard service timings. If a service proceeds to take the stylist longer, due to long or thick hair, or if a large amount of product is required, an additional price of £16 is applied per 15 minutes.

Due to the use of sharp tools, hazardous equipment and chemical products we politely ask young children do not wander about the salon unsupervised. We appreciate young children may need to accompany a family member in our beauty treatment rooms, so we ask clients be mindful of possible hazards before entering.
